What to expect

Initial consultation

The first appointment consists of a full medical case history and details of any medication you may be taking. A full postural examination may also take place to help provide an explanation of the presenting complaint. A treatment plan will then be discussed and treatment will be provided if appropriate and indicated.

What to wear

During postural examination, the patient may be asked to dress down to their underwear which allows a full evaluation of posture and helps to determine the potential cause of pain or injury. Normal underwear is advised and some patients may feel more comfortable wearing a pair of running shorts as well.

If for any reason the patient does not wish to dress down, then the assessment and treatment can be carried out through clothing, although this may limit the evaluation process and treatment options. Towels will be used to cover the patient once assessment has taken place.
